The major indices of the US markets recorded record highs when they closed in the opening session of the week yesterday, Monday, July 12 (July 12), as the Dow Jones Industrial Average tested the 35,000 levels before returning and closing close to them, as the markets await the start of companies, financial institutions and banks announcing their results for the second quarter of the year This is where JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and Citigroup will announce their results this week.
The markets are awaiting the inflation data represented in the US consumer price index for the month of jun, where expectations indicate that inflation will rise to 0.5% and rise by 4.9% at an annual pace.
In terms of stock movement, Tesla’s stock recorded a rise at the close of the session by about 4.38% at levels of $685 to support the rise of the S&P 500 and Nasdaq indices.
On the other hand, shares of virgin galactic company, which specializes in the field of spaceflight, fell more than 17% at the close after the company submitted an offer to sell up to $500 million of shares at the stock closing at $40.69 levels, losing more than $1 billion in market value.
Shares of Walt Disney Entertainment Company recorded increases of more than 4% at closing at levels of 184.38 dollars, after its latest films achieved revenues of about 80 million dollars in its first weekend.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed the opening session up by about (126) points at the close at 34.996 levels, with gains of about 0.36%, and it is now trading in the futures for today’s session, Friday, at 34.859 levels, down by about 17 points.
While the S&P 500 index recorded highs at the close at 4.384 levels, a rise of about (15) points or 0.35%, and it is now trading in futures at 4.258 levels, down by about 2 points.
While the Nasdaq index recorded gains by (31 points), to close the session at 14,733 points, recording gains of about 0.21%, and it is now trading at levels of 14.877, up by about 8 points.
