The US indices recorded mixed performance when they closed the last sessions of June and the second half of the year by closing the trading session yesterday, Wednesday 30th of June (June 30th), as the S&P 500 index recorded a new record closing level, while the Nasdaq fell at the closing of the session.
By the end of the second quarter of this year, the three main indices recorded strong increases, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by about 4.6% in the second quarter of the year, despite its decline in June by about 0.07%, while the S&P 500 index rose by 8.2%, recording monthly gains estimated By about 2% in June, the Nasdaq index recorded gains of about 9.5%, of which it gained about 5% in June.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up by (210) points at the close at 34.502 levels, with gains of about 0.61%, and it is now trading in the futures for today’s session, Thursday, the first session of July, at 34.518 levels, up by about 119 points.
While the S&P 500 index recorded highs at the close at 4.297 levels, an increase of about (5) points or 0.13%, and it is now trading in futures at 4.301 levels, up by about 12 points.
While the Nasdaq index recorded losses by (24 points) to close the session at 14,503 points, recording declines of about 0.17%, and it is now trading at levels of 14.560, up by about 11 points.
