The American labor market in non-farm jobs NFP added 943 thousand jobs in July, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics in the United States of America moments ago, compared to 938 thousand jobs in the revised June reading and better than the market expectations, which indicated the addition of about 870 thousand jobs.
The unemployment rate in the United States of America decreased by 0.5% to 5.4% (expectations at 5.7%), as the number of the unemployed decreased by 782 thousand to 8.7 million, much higher compared to its levels before the pandemic, while the labor market participation rates came at 61.7%, compared to 61 .4% in June.
On the other hand, the wage index improved on a monthly basis by 0.4% (expectations of 0.3%) and rose on an annual basis to 4%, compared to 3.6% in June, better than expectations that it had indicated a rise to 3.9%.
In the details of the index, the health care sector added about 37 thousand jobs, while the transportation sector added 50 thousand jobs, and the manufacturing sector added about 27 thousand jobs.
The US dollar is rising by more than 0.30% and is trading at 92.58 levels, after these numbers came better than the markets’ expectations.
