Technology companies support the Nasdaq and S&P indices in the opening session

\ US stocks recorded a mixed performance when they closed the opening session of the week yesterday, Monday, October 18th, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined, affected by the rise in global growth concerns after the slowdown in growth in the second largest economy in the world, in addition to the rise in global inflation fears, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq indices benefited from the positive The technology sector closed the two indices with gains for the fourth consecutive session.

The data of the National Bureau of Statistics of China released yesterday, Monday, showed a growth less than expected in Chinese GDP by 4.9% in the third quarter ending in September, compared to 7.9% in the second quarter (expectations of 5%), as the Chinese economy was affected by a shortage crisis. China’s energy and real estate sector growth slowed in the third quarter.

Major technology companies supported the S&P 500 and Nasdaq, as Alphabet (Google), Amazon, Microsoft, Apple and Facebook rose within the 1% range, with the exception of Facebook, which rose by about 3.26%, as is the case with Tesla, which rose by 3.21%.

On the other hand, companies and financial institutions continue to announce their financial results for the third quarter this week, after the major US banks announced their results last week (Morgan Stanley – Bank of America – Goldman Sachs – Citigroup) and their results exceeded market expectations.

It is expected that Johnson & Johnson, Netflix, Baker Hughes, Tesla, Intel Corp, Travels and many companies and institutions will announce their results during this week’s sessions. Attached is an illustration of this week’s subsidies

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed the opening session, down by 36 points, at 35.258 levels, with a loss of about 0.10%.

On the other hand, the S&P 500 index recorded increases at closing at 4.486 levels, up by about (15 points) or 0.34%.

While the Nasdaq index recorded gains by (124 points) to close the session at 15.021 points, recording gains of about 0.84%.
