The US private sector lost about 301 thousand jobs in January, according to figures released just before by the ADP, after adding about 807,000 jobs in December, while expectations were for the addition of 185 thousand jobs.
In details, the commodity production sector lost about 27 thousand jobs, while the manufacturing sector lost about 21 thousand jobs, and the construction sector lost 10 thousand jobs, while the services sector, which includes the trade, transport, utilities, activities and information sectors, lost about 274 thousand jobs.
The markets had started expecting negative employment numbers since the beginning of the week of January, after the spread of Omicron injuries inside the United States of America, which forced many to leave their work temporarily, as stated in the White House’s recent warnings.
The US dollar continues to bleed and decline for the third consecutive session, as the general index of the US dollar loses about 0.35% and is trading at 95.80 levels before the opening of the US markets.
