The services PMI for the eurozone grew by 53 points in February from 50.8, an eight-month high, while the manufacturing index fell to 48.5 from a two-month low of 48.8.
The improvement in the service index came after the index rose in France to 52.8 from 49.9 and the index stabilized in Germany at 51.3 while the German manufacturing index fell to 46.5 and the manufacturing index in France fell to 47.9 on the euro zone index.
From the United Kingdom, the services index, which represents more than two-thirds of the economy, rose to 53.3 in February, its highest reading in eight months, compared to 48.7 in January, while the manufacturing index rose to 49.2 from 47.
The euro rose against the dollar by more than 25 points, to trade at 1.0666 levels, while the pound sterling rose by more than 60 points after the announcement of the data, to trade at 1.2074 levels.
