Companies and financial institutions continue to announce their quarterly results for the third quarter of the year, which have reached the final stage, as by the conclusion of today’s trading session, more than 81% of companies and financial institutions will have announced results that exceed expectations, which explains the continued rise of US stocks.
The Disney Company put pressure on the Dow Jones index during the session yesterday, Thursday, after the company issued quarterly results and revenues amounting to 18.52 billion dollars, and profits of 0.37 dollars per share, below the estimates from the revenue and earnings sides, as the company’s share declined by about 7.07% at closing at 162.11 dollars.
Tesla’s stock, in turn, recorded slight declines at the close by about 0.42% at closing at levels of 1063 dollars, after the CEO of the company, Elon Musk, sold more than 4.5 million shares worth 5 billion dollars of his share of more than 166 million shares.
One of the biggest beneficiaries during the session was the company RIVN, which specializes in electric trucks, whose shares rose by 22% after its first trading day after the public offering, while the manufacturer of the Lebanese burger BYND lost 13% after disappointing data.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down by (158) points at the close at 35.921 levels, a loss of about 0.44%, and is now trading in the futures for today’s session, Friday, at 35,884 levels, up by 55 points.
While the S&P 500 index recorded highs at the close at 4.649 levels, an increase of about (2) points or 0.06%, and it is now trading in futures at levels of 4.650, up by about 8 points.
While the Nasdaq index recorded gains by (81 points), to close the session at 15,704 points, recording a profit of about 0.52%, and it is now trading at 16,062 levels, up by about 39 points.
