The German Ifo confidence index rose to 86.7 in March, its highest level since July of last year, compared to 85.3 in February. Expectations had been for a rise to 86.8, as German companies expressed satisfaction with their current
business situation and their expectations rose significantly, with expectations for an economic recovery increasing.
In detail, the current situation index rose to 85.7, compared to 85 in February, while the expectations index rose to 87.7 from 85.6.
