The Australian unemployment rate fell in June to 3.5%, according to figures issued by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) at the beginning of the Asian session today, Thursday, while expectations indicated that it would rise to 3.6%, with the participation rate in the labor market declining to 66.8% from 66.9%.
The Australian economy added about 32,600 jobs in June, bringing the number of employment to 14,046,100 million jobs, compared to 14,013,500 million in May, after adding more than 75,000 jobs in May, while expectations were to add nearly 15,000.
