The report issued by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics moments ago showed that 311,000 jobs were added in February, compared to the addition of 517,000 jobs in the January reading, before it was revised down to 504,000 to come better than market expectations, which indicated the creation of 224,000 jobs.
On the other hand, unemployment rates rose to 3.6% from 3.4%, matching expectations, coinciding with the rise in labor force participation rates to 62.5%.
Average hourly wages declined in February to 0.2% from 0.3% on a monthly basis, while it rose to 4.6% on an annual basis, compared to 4.4% in January.
In the details of the sectors, the commodity production sector added about 20,000 jobs, while the construction sector added 24,000 jobs, and the manufacturing sector lost about 4,000 jobs. The services sector added about 245,000 jobs.
