Preliminary estimates from the UK’s Office for National Statistics show that the UK’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.3% in November, following a 0.1% decline in October. This figure exceeded expectations and also showed growth of 0.1% in the three months to November.
The services sector, which accounts for more than 70% of the UK economy, grew by 0.3% in November, while the manufacturing sector grew by 1.1%. The construction sector, however, contracted by 1.3%.
