US indices lose more than 1.5% in the opening session of the week and futures are on the rise

The main US indexes of Wall Street recorded sharp declines when they closed the opening session of the week yesterday, Monday, September 20 (September), as the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 indexes recorded their largest daily decline since last May, while the Dow Jones lost about 600 points at the close, as concerns about a meeting rose.

The US Federal Reserve this week, in addition to the continuation of the US government’s negotiations regarding the Congressional budget and the debt ceiling.

The markets are awaiting the US Federal Reserve meeting during the current week, as the markets are still waiting for the Fed to determine the details of its next step, which is the gradual start of reducing the stimulus program amounting to 120 billion dollars per month.

Therefore, it is not excluded that the case of profit-taking in US stocks will continue until the end of the US Federal Reserve meeting.

\In terms of stock movement, the five largest stocks in the technology sector declined, as Apple’s share lost about 2.14%, while Microsoft’s stock fell by about 1.86%, and Alphabet’s share lost about 1.48%, while Amazon’s share was among the biggest losers, with a loss estimated at 3.08%.

On the hardest sectors, the 11 main sectors in the S&P index recorded declines, led by the energy sector, which declined by about 3%, affected by the declines in crude, and the banking sub-index fell by about 2.9%.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down by about (614) points at the close at 33.970 levels, a loss of about 1.78%, and is now trading in futures for today’s session, Tuesday, at 34.065 levels, up by about 226 points.

On the other hand, the S&P 500 index recorded declines at the close at 4.357 levels, down by about (75 points), recording declines by about 1.70%, and it is now trading in futures at 4.371 levels, up by about 24 points.

While the Nasdaq index recorded declines by (330 points), to close the session at 14,713 points, recording losses of about 2.19%, and it is now trading at 15.074 levels, up by about 65 points.
