Data released moments before by the US Census Bureau showed a rise in US retail sales better than the market expectations, as sales rose by about 1% in June, compared to a decline of about -0.1% in the revised May reading, while expectations indicated a rise by 0.9%.
Core sales, excluding auto prices, recorded a growth in June of 1.0%, compared to an increase of 0.6% recorded in May, better than expectations that indicated a growth of 0.7%.
The US dollar is trading at 108.22 levels, down by 0.40%.
