The yield on US Treasury bonds, in turn, continued to rise, putting pressure on the growth and technology sector stocks, as the yield on the ten-year bonds tested during the session its highest level since January 2019 at 2.78%, rising by more than 2.5%.

The markets are awaiting the consumer price index, which is concerned with measuring inflation in the United States of America, today, Tuesday, in the American session, where estimates indicate a rise in annual inflation in March to 8.4%, after an increase of 7.9% in February, while core inflation, excluding food and energy prices, is expected to rise. to 6.6% from 6.4%.

This week, it will start announcing the quarterly business results of companies and financial institutions for the first quarter of this year. In terms of stock movement, Microsoft and Alphabet shares topped the decliners in the technology sector, losing about 3.94% and 3.35%, respectively, while Tesla shares fell by 4.83%, after data showed a decline in car sales in China in March.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down by (413) points at the close at 34.308 levels, a loss of about 1.19%, and is now trading in futures for today’s session, Tuesday, at 35.093 levels, down by about 125 points.

While the S&P 500 index recorded declines at the close at 4.412 levels, down by about (75) points, or 1.69%, and is now trading in futures at 4.389 levels, down by about 19 points.

While the Nasdaq index recorded declines by (299 points), to close the session at 13.411 points, recording losses of about 2.18%, and it is now trading in the futures, down by about 60 points.
