US stocks recorded gains at the close of trading on Thursday, July 29, in the first US market session, after the US Federal Reserve’s decision to raise interest rates by 75 basis points, ignoring US growth figures that showed the US economy entered a state of recession.

And the gross domestic product of the United States of America recorded a decline in the second quarter of the current year ending in June in the preliminary reading, according to the report of the Bureau of Economic Analysis issued on Thursday, by -0.9, compared to a decline of about -1.6% in the first quarter, contrary to expectations that indicated a growth of about 0.4%

Companies and financial institutions continue to announce their quarterly results for the second quarter of the year, as the gains of major technology companies such as Alphabet, the parent company of Google and Microsoft, supported the gains that exceeded expectations and raised the market sentiment.

Apple announced yesterday, Thursday, a net profit of $19.4 billion in the second quarter of the year, earnings per share of $1.20, and revenues of $82.959 billion, bringing the stock up in post-closing trading by 4.67%.

On the other hand, Amazon retail currencies recorded revenues of 121.2 billion dollars, less than expectations that indicated 119.9 billion dollars, while the company recorded a net loss of 2.028 billion, bringing the stock up by 13% in post-closing trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up by about (332) points at the close at 32.529 levels, with gains of about 1.03%, and it is now trading in the futures for today’s session, Friday, at 32.540 levels, up by about 18 points.

While the S&P 500 index recorded highs at the close at 4.072 levels, a rise of about (48) points or 1.21%, and it is now trading in futures at 4.098 levels, gaining about 25 points.

While the Nasdaq index recorded gains by (130 points) to close the session at 12,162 points, recording a profit of about 1.08%, and it is now trading in the futures, up by about 170 points.
