The report issued by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics moments ago showed that 236,000 jobs were added in March, compared to the addition of 311,000 jobs in February’s reading, better than market expectations that indicated the creation of 228,000 jobs.
On the other hand, unemployment rates declined to 3.5% from 3.6%, better than expectations, coinciding with the rise in labor force participation rates to 62.6%. Average hourly wages rose in March to 0.3% from 0.2% on a monthly basis, while it rose to 4.2% on an annual basis, compared to 4.6% in February.
In the details of the sectors, the commodity production sector lost about 7 thousand jobs, while the construction sector lost 9 thousand jobs, and the manufacturing sector lost about a thousand jobs, and the services sector added about 196 thousand jobs.
