Australian labor market data released Thursday morning in the Asian session from the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed that the unemployment rate fell to 3.9% in April from 4% in March, the lowest level since the seventies, in line with expectations, coinciding with the decline in the participation rate in the labor market to 66.3%.
On the other hand, the economy added about 4 thousand jobs in April, compared to the March reading, which came with the addition of 17.9 thousand jobs, bringing the total jobs at an annual rate to 13,401.700 million jobs, while it was estimated that about 30 thousand jobs were added.
The Australian dollar is trading at 0.7010 levels against the US dollar, before the opening of the European markets, with an increase of more than 50 points.
