US indices recorded gains when they closed the opening session of the week yesterday, Monday, September 13th (September), with the exception of the Nasdaq Composite Index, which specializes in the technology sector, which closed with declines amid anticipation in the markets for US inflation data, which will be released on Tuesday.
Investors in financial markets are focusing on potential corporate tax increases if US President Joe Biden’s $3.5 trillion package is approved, which is expected to include a proposed increase in the corporate tax rate to 26.5%, compared to 21% currently.
In terms of stock movement, Apple’s stock was one of the most active stocks, as the technology giant’s stock closed with a gain of about 0.39% at levels of $149.55, amid anticipation of its annual conference, which will be held today, Tuesday, for the expected iPhone 13.
The shares of vaccine manufacturers Moderna and PFizer recorded declines at the close by 6.6% and 2.2%, respectively.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed the opening session, up by about (261) points, at the close at 34.869 levels, with gains of about 0.76%, and it is now trading in the futures for today’s session, Tuesday, at 34.814 levels, up by about 60 points.
While the S&P 500 index recorded highs at the close at 4.468 levels, an increase of about (10) points or 0.24%, and it is now trading in futures at 4.466 levels, up by about six points.
While the Nasdaq index recorded declines by (9 points), to close the session at 15.105 points, recording losses of about 0.07%, and it is now trading at 15,443 levels, up by about 13 points.
