Australian unemployment rates rose in July to 3.7% from 3.5%, according to figures issued by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) at the beginning of the Asian session today, Thursday, while expectations were for an increase to 3.6%, with a decrease in the participation rate in the labor market to 66.7% from 66.8%.
The Australian economy lost about 14,600 thousand jobs in July, bringing the total number of employment to 14,026,700 million jobs, compared to 14,041,300 million in June, after adding more than 30,000 jobs, while expectations were to add nearly 15,000.
