The UK consumer price index (CPI), which measures inflation in the United Kingdom, rose to 2.6% year-on-year in November from 2.3% in October, in line with expectations, while the core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, rose to 3.5% in November from 3.3%, missing expectations of 3.6%.
On a monthly basis, the index rose by 0.1% in November, compared with a decline of around 0.2% in November last year.
The biggest upward contribution to the UK CPI in November came from a 0.10% rise in transport prices, while housing and household services prices also rose by 0.10%.
