Canada’s retail sales were relatively flat at 0.0% in November, Statistics Canada reported moments ago, to $67.6 billion after growing by about 0.6% in October, missing expectations for a 0.2% increase.
Sales at food and beverage retailers led the subsector, with a 1.6% decline, while sales at auto and parts dealers rose by 2%. Sales at gas stations and fuel retailers also rose by 0.7%.
Core retail sales, which exclude gas stations, fuel retailers, and auto and parts dealers, fell by 1% in November, their biggest decline in six months.
